Rockingham County Attorney

Patricia “Pat” Conway is the Republican Rockingham County Attorney. Pat has served the citizens of Rockingham County for 25 years. As both an Assistant County Attorney for 16 years, and the sitting Rockingham County Attorney serving in her fourth term, Pat has handled some of the most challenging and complicated felony cases in the County such as sale of a controlled drug with death resulting, home invasions, burglaries, aggravated felonious sexual assaults and child abuse.

She supervises 46 attorneys and support staff, serves as liaison between the Rockingham County Attorney’s Office and 37 police departments and conducts grand jury for the entire County. Pat is the Chief Law Enforcement Officer in Rockingham County. Pat is responsible for training new prosecutors, conducting trainings for law enforcement, making hiring, firing and office policy decisions and overseeing a budget of approximately 3 million dollars.

Pat has been trained by the National District Attorney’s Association in trial advocacy, the prosecution of drug cases and office administration. She has received training from the Attorney General’s Office, the American Prosecutor’s Research Institute and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in prosecuting domestic violence, sexual abuse and internet crimes against children.

The County Attorney must not only have prosecutorial experience, but also the ability to lead, manage a staff and oversee a budget of approximately three million dollars. Crime devastates communities. That is why it is imperative to have a strong County Attorney who understands what it takes to reduce crime and recidivism. Pat has the experience to ensure that all facets of the job are handled ethically and appropriately. She looks forward to continuing her service as the Rockingham County Attorney.

Pat has two children and lives in Atkinson, New Hampshire with her husband Eric.
